"Boston hiring in 2026 tends to reward candidates who can work close to the problem, whether that means technical teams near research-heavy employers, operations roles tied to local institutions, or customer-facing jobs where in-person judgment still matters. For broad Jobs in Boston searches, I’d watch how each posting frames location: hybrid expectations, neighborhood access, and cross-functional work often tell you more than the title alone."

Marina's Market Take

Senior HR Leader & Lead Tech Recruiter

### How to Land a Job in Boston in 2026

For jobs in Boston, the first step is to define the lane you’re actually pursuing. A broad search across every listing in Boston can blur your positioning, especially when the page includes different job families, seniority levels, and work styles. Pick a clear direction before you apply, such as customer support, operations, sales, administration, engineering, analytics, healthcare support, or marketing, then shape each application around that lane.

Your application should quickly answer three Boston-specific questions: what type of work you do, where you can realistically work, and how soon you can contribute. If a listing is on-site or hybrid in Boston, mention your ability to commute or work from the area. If the role is remote but tied to Boston, make your availability, time zone fit, and communication habits clear. Local employers often need to understand whether you’re truly available for the schedule and work arrangement listed.

- **For operations and administrative roles,** emphasize scheduling, vendor coordination, office systems, reporting, and follow-through across busy teams.
- **For customer-facing roles,** point to support volume, client communication, account coordination, CRM use, and examples of resolving issues without long handoffs.
- **For technical or analytics roles,** lead with the tools, systems, languages, dashboards, or data workflows named in the Boston job description.
- **For marketing, sales, or growth roles,** connect your work to campaigns, pipeline activity, content, outreach, partnerships, or conversion-focused projects.

Search strategy matters because Boston listings can vary widely by commute, schedule, and seniority. Review job titles carefully, but also scan the responsibilities for the daily work. A coordinator title, associate title, or specialist title may describe very different expectations across Boston employers, so prioritize roles where your past tasks line up with the posting’s actual work.

For **jobs in Boston**, build your resume around the exact function in the posting rather than using one general version for every application. A finance or operations resume should show process ownership, reporting, vendor work, controls, or cost tracking. A product, marketing, or customer-facing resume should show launches, campaign results, pipeline, retention, support volume, or account growth. For technical roles, include shipped work, systems owned, production tools, and measurable reliability or delivery outcomes.

Cut vague location-flexible filler like “hard worker,” “team player,” and long objective statements. Use the space for Boston-relevant work details: hybrid or on-site availability, client-facing experience, regulated-industry exposure, university, healthcare, biotech, financial services, or startup experience if it is actually part of your background. List tools only when you’ve used them: Excel, Salesforce, SQL, Jira, Workday, Tableau, HubSpot, Google Analytics, Python, AWS, or certifications such as PMP, CPA, SHRM-CP, CompTIA, or Scrum credentials when they match the job.

- **Weak bullet:** “Helped with reports and supported the team.”
- **Stronger bullet:** “Built weekly Excel and Tableau reports for Boston operations leadership, reducing manual status updates and giving managers a clearer view of open requests.”

Keep dates current with 2026, show scope, and mirror the posting’s language without copying it word for word.

For Boston jobs in 2026, prepare around the role lane rather than using one interview script for every opening. Engineering and data interviews may include technical screens, SQL or Python exercises, system design prompts, or debugging conversations. Product, operations, and growth roles often lean on case prompts, prioritization discussions, funnel analysis, or process-improvement examples with clear metrics.

Design and content candidates should be ready for portfolio reviews that explain tradeoffs, research inputs, and shipped outcomes. Compliance, finance, healthcare, education, and research-adjacent roles in Boston may include domain-specific scenarios, documentation reviews, or questions about working within regulated or detail-heavy environments.

Build a small set of examples before the interview: one project with measurable results, one conflict or constraint, one cross-functional collaboration, and one example tied to the job’s core tools or workflows. If the posting mentions stakeholder management, prepare a partner-facing story. If it lists analytics, bring a concise case study with numbers, assumptions, and what changed after your recommendation.

The role is approximately 75% program leadership and external-facing work and 25% direct scientific leadership of the researchers executing the program’s laboratory work guiding experimental design, interpreting results, and translating them into program strategy.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Program Leadership**

- Build, sustain, and develop a motivated, high-performing PT; leverage internal and external expertise, including advisory and counseling boards; collaborate closely with groups outside the PT.

- Responsible for the financial steering of long-term program budgets as assigned by senior leadership, including forecasting, prioritization of spend, and accountability for delivery against budget.
- Accountable to ProFound management and to relevant joint oversight committees with partners for all aspects of the PT’s activities.
- Serve as a principal scientific and operational point of contact for the Gates Foundation collaboration, accountable for delivery against agreed goals, milestones, and reporting commitments.

**Scientific and Discovery Leadership**

- Set the scientific direction for discovery research in preeclampsia and hypertension in pregnancy, and direct the design, execution, and interpretation of mechanistic studies using state-of-the-art models and technologies.
- Provide day-to-day scientific leadership to the scientists and research associates executing the program’s laboratory work — experimental design, troubleshooting, data interpretation, and prioritization of effort.
- Ensure timely creation and delivery of a Preeclampsia AI tool for evaluating and prioritizing novel preeclampsia biomarkers and drug targets.
- Partner with computational biology and proteomics teams to apply AI and machine learning to large-scale datasets and prioritize targets with high translational potential.
- Translate experimental output into program strategy — interrogating data, testing conclusions, and converting findings into decisions on target prioritization, study design, and pipeline direction.
- Lead target validation informed by proteomic and computational insights, partnering with biology and proteomics teams and other in-house experts.
- Design and oversee in vitro and in vivo models of disease to support target biology, biomarker development, and proof-of-concept studies.

- Experience in early-stage biotech or drug discovery from target identification through candidate selection or IND, and with stage-gate pipeline governance.
- Experience with human tissue samples, iPSC-derived systems, or organoid models.

## ****A note before you read further****

The world is changing fast, and so is this role. We can't fully tell you what this job looks like in six months. That's true of every role at Human Agency right now. What we need from you, no matter what: accountability, curiosity, and a builder-first mindset. If that sounds exciting, keep reading. If it sounds intimidating but you're still interested, let's talk. If none of that sounds like you, that's okay. This probably isn't your spot.

## About Human Agency

We're scaling rapidly and have a growing pipeline of opportunities that demand exceptional talent across disciplines. Our mission is to bring on individuals, from creative producers to technical experts to entrepreneurial leaders, who can help us realize this next chapter of growth.

We are a company of doers. Leaders roll up their sleeves, teams work flat, and everyone contributes to what ships. Titles don't insulate us from feedback or basics. We invite critique, learn quickly, and keep raising the bar. The best ideas win here, no matter where they come from, because clients trust us to deliver the strongest outcomes every time.

Our clients' missions, products, and bottom lines are sacred. We immerse ourselves in their world, becoming stewards of their goals and partners in solving big problems. Every product, strategy, or asset we create must be both beautiful and functional; practical, usable, and designed for real-world impact.

Humans are our most valuable resource, and we only grow by hiring people who push us forward. Across strategy, engineering, design, data, and operations, we seek out teammates who raise the bar and make us better. Always hire up, never down.

We partner with organizations of all sizes to explore, design, and implement AI strategies that are secure, scalable, and human-centered. We believe AI should amplify human potential, not replace it, and we build with that conviction in every engagement. From advisory and tooling to implementation and education, we meet clients where they are and help them integrate AI in ways that align with their mission and values. Our goal is to empower teams to work smarter, move faster, and unlock new possibilities through thoughtful, responsible innovation.

And through it all, we lead with purpose, love, and adventure. We do meaningful work with people we care about, and we make the ride an adventure worth taking. Because at Human Agency, who we are and how we work are one and the same.

## The Opportunity

Most designers have a lane. Brand people make things look right. Product people make things work right. Systems people make things scale right. You refuse to pick, and that refusal is exactly what we're after. We work with clients ranging from early-stage ventures to established organizations, all navigating a pivotal moment in how AI is reshaping their products and brands. They need design that holds up at the identity level and at the component level, and they need it from someone who can move fast while also adhering to critical details no one else would think to notice.

This role exists because our clients' design needs don't stop at a logo or a Figma file. They need visual systems that a developer can build from, a brand team can extend, and an AI tool can interpret. You'll be the person who owns that full arc, from first-pass brand exploration through the token naming convention that makes the system actually usable, and you'll do it across multiple client engagements at once.

You've also already reckoned with what AI means for how design gets made. You're not experimenting with it cautiously; you've rebuilt your workflow around it because the old one stopped making sense. That's the standard here, and it's one we're going to keep raising.

## What You'll Own

- **Brand Identity & Visual Direction** — Lead brand identity work for clients from concept through final delivery, making and defending decisions about typography, color, motion, and voice with the confidence of someone who's done it before and knows why it works.
- **Design Systems Architecture** — Build design systems from the ground up (components, documentation, governance), not extend someone else's library. Your systems should be usable by engineers, legible to AI tooling, and maintainable by teams that outlast the engagement.
- **Web & Product Design** — Own end-to-end design for web and product experiences, from information architecture and interaction patterns through final specs, with enough craft in the details that clients are delighted on the first round.
- **AI-Augmented Workflow** — Use AI tools actively across exploration, iteration, and systemization to move faster and produce more considered work, and share what you're learning with the team so we all get better.
- **Client Collaboration** — Present and defend design decisions directly to client stakeholders, translating the reasoning behind visual and systems choices into terms that land with non-designers without dumbing anything down.
- **Cross-Functional Handoff**— Work closely with engineers, strategists, and AI practitioners to ensure design outputs are implementable, appropriately scoped, and set the people coming after you up to succeed.

## Who You Are

### Experience & Skills

- 6+ years of design experience with meaningful work on both brand identity and digital product, not one with a footnote of the other.
- A portfolio that includes at least one design system you built from scratch, starting from a brand identity rather than inheriting an existing component library.
- Demonstrable fluency in Figma, including variables, auto layout, and component architecture at a level that would impress an engineer who's seen bad handoffs before.
- A real track record of shipping brand identities and web experiences for clients or products people actually use, not just speculative or academic work.
- Current, working knowledge of AI tools applied to design workflows (generative image tools, LLM-assisted copy exploration, prototyping acceleration, or comparable) used in a way that's changed how you actually work, not just how you talk about working.
- Strong enough grasp of front-end constraints (HTML, CSS, design tokens, component-based development) to design systems that developers want to build from.
- Experience working in a consultancy, agency, or multi-client environment where you've had to context-switch across industries and brand voices without losing rigor.

### Mindset & Traits

- You'd rather build the thing than write the deck about why the thing should be built.
- You're not precious about methodology or tools, but you care about outcomes, and you update your approach when something stops working.
- You can hold a high aesthetic bar and a high functional bar at the same time without treating them as competing priorities.
- You take feedback without flinching and give it without softening it into uselessness.
- You're comfortable with ambiguity at the start of a project and disciplined enough to create clarity by the end of it. You want to be somewhere that rewards moving fast and building well, and you're put off by places that side-eye either one.

## Logistics

- Remote-first position open to candidates based in the United States or Canada.
- This one's Eastern time zone; we need real-time overlap with the team.
- Contract-to-hire preferred.
- Some travel may be required for client engagements or team gatherings.

## FAQ

### How do I find jobs in Boston in 2026?

Use this Boston jobs page to review current openings tied to the city, then narrow your search by title, experience level, and workplace format when those details appear in a listing. For 2026, keep your resume focused on the exact Boston role you’re applying for, since local postings can vary widely in responsibilities, schedule, and application requirements.

### Are there entry-level jobs in Boston listed on this page?

This page is built around jobs in Boston, so entry-level opportunities may appear when employers are hiring for roles that do not require extensive prior experience. Check each Boston listing for wording such as assistant, associate, coordinator, junior, trainee, or no specific experience requirement. The job description is the best source for what the employer expects.

### Can I find remote or hybrid jobs in Boston?

Some Boston job listings may mention remote, hybrid, or on-site work, but the format should always be confirmed in the individual posting. For a Boston-based role, look closely at location language, office expectations, and any notes about required days in the workplace before applying. If the listing is unclear, treat the work arrangement as something to verify during the process.

### What should I include when applying for jobs in Boston?

For Boston jobs, your application should connect your recent work, education, or project experience to the responsibilities shown in the listing. Use the same role language where it fits naturally, and keep location details clear if you’re already in Boston or planning to work there. A short, focused resume usually works better than a broad document sent to every opening.

### How often should I check for new Boston job listings?

If you’re actively searching for jobs in Boston, checking listings several times a week can help you catch newer openings before they get crowded. In September 2026, review recently added roles, save the ones that match your background, and apply only after reading the requirements closely. A smaller set of well-matched Boston applications is usually more useful than rushing through every posting.

### Do Boston jobs require local experience?

A Boston job posting may value local experience, but it is not always presented as a strict requirement. Read the listing for clues about client contact, commuting, neighborhood coverage, licensing, or on-site work. If your background is from another city, focus your resume on the duties, tools, and results that match the Boston role rather than trying to over-explain the location change.

Use LiftmyCV to match with Boston openings, tailor your resume for each role, and auto-apply to jobs that fit your background.
