"Marketing hiring in 2026 often splits into a few clear lanes rather than one general track. Growth and performance roles tend to be judged on channel depth and testing discipline, while content, brand, and lifecycle hiring usually leans more on audience judgment, messaging, and execution range. Product marketing sits in its own lane, with closer scrutiny on positioning, launches, and cross-functional work. For broad marketing pages, that mix matters more than a one-size-fits-all resume."

Marina's Market Take

Senior HR Leader & Lead Tech Recruiter

### How to Land a Marketing Job in 2026

Marketing jobs usually split into a few clear lanes, and your application works better when it reads like one lane, not every lane at once. For brand and content roles, show published work, campaign ownership, editorial planning, messaging examples, and the channels you’ve actually managed. For growth and performance marketing jobs, lead with paid search, paid social, lifecycle, conversion work, attribution, testing, and the platforms you use. For product marketing roles, focus on positioning, launches, sales enablement, customer research, and cross-functional work with product and revenue teams. If your background is in CRM, retention, or email, make that the center of the story instead of burying it under broad "marketing" language.

In September 2026, a stronger marketing application usually shows proof of execution in a specific channel mix. That can mean campaign briefs, landing pages, ad concepts, nurture flows, webinar programs, case studies, or launch materials. Keep the examples close to the role family you’re targeting. A demand generation application should not read like a social media application, and a content marketer should not sound like a paid acquisition generalist unless the job clearly blends both.

Your search strategy should stay narrow enough that recruiters can place you quickly. Build separate versions of your positioning for content, growth, product marketing, and lifecycle roles if you apply across more than one lane. Use the job title, channel focus, and business model in the posting to decide what to foreground. B2B SaaS launch work, ecommerce acquisition, and brand storytelling are all marketing, but they are not screened the same way.

- **Brand and content:** show voice, campaign themes, editorial ownership, and distribution.
- **Growth and performance:** show testing, channel management, reporting, and budget-facing work.
- **Product marketing:** show positioning, launches, research, and enablement assets.
- **Lifecycle and CRM:** show segmentation, journeys, retention work, and email or automation tools.

For **Marketing Jobs**, your resume should show channel ownership, campaign results, and the tools behind the work. If you’ve handled paid search, lifecycle email, content, social, brand, product marketing, or marketing ops, name the lane clearly and back it up with execution details. Platforms like Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, GA4, Google Tag Manager, HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, Mailchimp, Ahrefs, Semrush, and Looker are worth listing when you’ve used them directly. Certifications such as Google Ads, GA4, HubSpot, or Meta can help if they’re current in 2026.

Cut vague claims like “helped with campaigns,” long summaries, and unrelated bullets that bury performance work. For growth and paid roles, lead with CAC, CPL, ROAS, funnel conversion, testing, and budget scope. For content and SEO roles, show rankings, traffic, briefs, publishing volume, and collaboration with design or product. For product marketing, emphasize launches, positioning, sales enablement, messaging tests, and customer research. For marketing ops, focus on attribution, CRM hygiene, automation, lead routing, and reporting accuracy.

- **Weak:** “Managed email marketing campaigns and supported promotions.”
- **Strong:** “Built and optimized lifecycle email campaigns in HubSpot, segmented users by trial stage, and lifted activation-to-paid conversion by 18% across Q3 2026.”

If you’re tightening the presentation, LiftmyCV can help you turn mixed marketing work into clearer, metric-led bullets.

Marketing interviews usually split by lane, so prep should match the role. For growth, performance, and lifecycle jobs, expect questions about channel strategy, testing, attribution, CAC, conversion, retention, and budget tradeoffs. A common prompt is to walk through a campaign you improved and explain the metric change, what you tested, and what you would do next in 2026.

Brand, content, and social roles often lean on portfolio review. Be ready to explain the brief, audience, message, distribution plan, and results behind specific launches, content programs, or creative assets. Product marketing interviews often include positioning exercises, launch planning, competitive analysis, or a mock go-to-market case.

For marketing operations, CRM, and analytics roles, prep for scenario questions tied to segmentation, reporting, lead flow, funnel leaks, and dashboard logic. Bring examples with numbers, screenshots, decks, or writing samples when relevant. LiftmyCV can help you organize those examples so each story is tied to a channel, goal, and measurable outcome.

- **Digital Marketing Manager — Tanium — Tokyo, Japan (Hybrid)**: **The Basics:**

At Tanium, the Digital Marketing Manager, Japan owns digital awareness, engagement, and pipeline across Tanium’s top enterprise accounts in Japan. This role builds and owns Tanium’s digital marketing engine in Japan — turning global strategy into Japan-market execution through integrated, account-based digital programs that build measurable share of voice within named target accounts and convert engagement into qualified pipeline for the Japan field sales team.

Performance is judged on account penetration, engagement depth, and pipeline contribution within Japan’s most strategic enterprises, with priority focus on BFSI and Critical Infrastructure, and Tanium’s alliance motions with ServiceNow and Microsoft. This role reports to the Director, Japan Marketing.

**What you’ll do:**

- Building awareness & engagement within named target accounts by:
Building Tanium’s digital share of voice and brand awareness within Japan’s top enterprise accounts, leading with BFSI and Critical Infrastructure
- Driving and measuring account-level engagement — intent signals, content consumption, web and event interaction — concentrating spend where buying signals are strongest
- Moving accounts deliberately through awareness → engagement → pipeline, reporting on account progression rather than impressions or clicks alone

Driving pipeline & revenue growth by:

- Converting digital engagement into qualified leads and opportunities, meeting or exceeding quarterly pipeline and NARR targets for Japan
- Optimizing for conversion rate, pipeline velocity, and account penetration — not lead volume in isolation

Leading account-based & regional campaigns by:

- Planning, launching, and optimizing paid search, paid social, programmatic display, and ABM tailored to Japan segments, buyer personas (CISO, CIO, IT and Security operations leaders), and the named account list
- Transcreating — not merely translating — messaging and creative so it carries cultural, linguistic, and contextual relevance for Japanese enterprise buyers
- Integrating digital with Japan field and event marketing to deliver full-funnel account engagement, including flagship moments such as Converge and regional Tanium events
- Leading cross-functional teams and agency partners to deliver integrated campaigns on time and on budget

Reporting on performance analytics by:

- Tracking and reporting account-level KPIs — account penetration, engagement rate, intent lift, conversion, ROAS, and pipeline/NARR contribution — with clear, actionable recommendations
- Presenting results to both Japan and global stakeholders, translating Japan-market nuance for HQ and global strategy for the local team

Owning ABM platform & MarTech by:

- Owning and optimizing the ABM and intent platform and Japan’s use of the global MarTech stack (Marketo, Salesforce), driving engagement and pipeline from target accounts

Managing budget & vendors by:

- Owning the Japan digital marketing budget, allocating for maximum ROI against the target account mandate
- Managing vendor and agency relationships for quality, accountability, and timely delivery

Producing localized content & social media by:

- Developing and localizing marketing content including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, and email campaigns to resonate with the Japanese audience and position Tanium as a thought leader
- Overseeing and managing Tanium Japan’s social media channels, creating engaging and relevant content to build and nurture the online community

Tracking market insights & innovation by:

- Monitoring Japan digital trends, the local digital ecosystem (Yahoo! Japan, LINE, Japanese search/SEO behavior), competitor activity, and Japanese enterprise buying behavior
- Testing and scaling innovative digital tactics that improve effectiveness and deepen account penetration

**We’re looking for someone with:**** **

**Education**

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field

**Experience and Skills**

**Must Haves:**

- 5–7 years in B2B digital marketing, demand generation, or field marketing, with a proven record in Japan-wide enterprise marketing roles
- Demonstrated delivery of pipeline and revenue outcomes through digital channels
- Hands-on expertise across paid search, paid social, programmatic, and ABM
- Advanced proficiency in MarTech platforms — Marketo or Eloqua, Salesforce, and ABM/intent tools
- Strong analytical skills: campaign reporting, optimization, and presenting insight to senior stakeholders
- Native or business-fluent Japanese (written and spoken), with the ability to create, judge, and refine Japanese-language B2B content and creative, paired with business-level English for daily global collaboration
- Deep understanding of Japanese enterprise buying behavior — consensus-driven, multi-stakeholder (稟議 / ringi) decision-making and long, relationship-led cycles — and how to design digital engagement that respects it
- Working knowledge of the Japanese digital ecosystem: Yahoo! Japan, LINE, local search behavior, and Japan-specific SEO
- Familiarity with the Japan B2B media, agency, and partner landscape
- Proven ability to operate as the Japan node of a global marketing organization: adapting global brand, messaging, and campaign frameworks for local execution
- Sales-aligned operator who partners closely with Japan field sales on account selection, engagement, and shared pipeline accountability

**Good to Have:**

- Enterprise software / SaaS marketing experience; cybersecurity, infrastructure, or endpoint experience a distinct advantage
- Experience marketing to security and IT decision-makers (CISO, CIO, Head of Infrastructure)
- Awareness of alliance- and partner-led GTM (e.g., ServiceNow, Microsoft, regional SIs)

## FAQ

### What should I expect on a Marketing Jobs page?

A Marketing Jobs page usually brings together openings across common marketing lanes rather than one narrow title. You may see roles tied to content, growth, brand, lifecycle, social, email, product marketing, or marketing operations. The exact mix can shift by September 2026, so it helps to scan titles closely and sort by the part of marketing you actually want.

### Are entry-level roles included in Marketing Jobs listings?

They can be, but a Marketing Jobs page often includes a mix of entry-level, mid-level, and senior openings. Look at the title and requirements for clues such as coordinator, specialist, manager, or director. On a broad marketing page, that title language usually tells you more than the category label alone.

### Do Marketing Jobs usually require specific tools?

Some do, especially in areas like email marketing, marketing operations, analytics, or paid acquisition. A Marketing Jobs listing may mention CRM platforms, reporting tools, ad platforms, content systems, or campaign dashboards. If the posting is broad or brand-focused, the tool list may be lighter than in performance or operations roles.

### Can I find remote Marketing Jobs on this page?

Possibly. Marketing Jobs pages often include a mix of remote, hybrid, and on-site listings when that workplace detail is available. The clearest signal is the job card or listing itself, not the category name. If workplace format matters to you, check each Marketing Jobs posting for remote or hybrid language before applying.

### How do I tell whether a marketing role is more creative or more analytical?

The title and responsibilities usually make that clear. Brand, content, social, and creative marketing roles often lean toward messaging, campaigns, and editorial work. Growth, lifecycle, paid media, and marketing operations roles tend to focus more on funnels, testing, reporting, and platform work. A broad Marketing Jobs page can include both sides.

### Should I apply if my background is in one area of marketing but the title is slightly different?

If the core work overlaps, it may still be worth considering. Someone from content marketing might fit a brand or social role, while a lifecycle marketer may overlap with CRM or email-focused openings. Read the day-to-day tasks, channels, and tools in the Marketing Jobs listing before deciding. LiftmyCV can help you tighten that match in your resume.
