"Sales hiring in 2026 often splits into a few clear lanes. Entry and mid-level openings tend to center on pipeline generation, outbound discipline, and CRM accuracy, while account executive and enterprise roles usually put more weight on deal strategy, forecast judgment, and evidence that you can handle longer cycles. Across the category, employers often respond best to resumes that show what you sold, who you sold to, and how you moved revenue forward, not just broad sales language."

Marina's Market Take

### How to Land a Sales Job in 2026

Sales hiring in 2026 usually splits into clear lanes, and your application needs to match one of them. For SDR and BDR openings, employers want evidence that you can prospect, handle outbound volume, and turn cold outreach into qualified meetings. For account executive roles, the focus shifts to pipeline ownership, deal progression, and closing work across longer sales cycles. Customer-facing sales roles tied to renewals or expansion often lean on retention, upsell judgment, and account management. If you apply across all three without changing your positioning, you blur the story.

Use your application to show the sales motion you actually know. Someone targeting SaaS account executive jobs should highlight quota-carrying work, CRM discipline, forecast calls, and examples of moving deals from discovery to close. An SDR candidate should lead with prospecting tools, call blocks, email sequencing, lead qualification, and handoff quality. Retail or field sales applicants need to foreground territory coverage, in-person selling, merchandising, or local account growth when those are central to the listing.

Your search strategy should stay lane-specific too. Group roles by title patterns such as SDR, account executive, account manager, sales development, and territory sales, then narrow further by inside sales, field sales, remote, or hybrid setup. Watch for listings that reveal the real day-to-day work through tools and workflow terms like Salesforce, HubSpot, demos, renewals, outbound, pipeline, or channel partners. Those details usually tell you more than the headline title.

Application timing matters on sales pages with active turnover in September 2026, so it helps to sort matching listings by lane and apply in focused batches. LiftmyCV keeps that process tighter by filtering sales roles by fit and auto-applying across matching listings that align with your lane.

For **sales jobs**, lead with proof of revenue work, not a general summary. Put quota attainment, pipeline created, average deal size, win rate, renewal results, or territory growth near the top. If you’ve worked in SaaS, retail, B2B, inside sales, account management, or business development, name that clearly and tie it to the sales motion. Tools matter here too: include Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Gong, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, or CPQ if you used them in day-to-day selling.

Cut bullets that read like task lists. “Called prospects,” “managed accounts,” or “worked with customers” wastes space unless you show volume, conversion, or retention. Certifications can help when they’re real signals, such as Salesforce credentials, HubSpot sales software training, or vendor-specific product training completed in 2026. If your background mixes new business and account growth, separate that on the page so the reader can see hunting versus expansion work quickly.

- A weak bullet: “Responsible for sales outreach and client communication.”
- A stronger bullet: “Built a 4-state outbound pipeline in Salesforce and Outreach, booked 28 qualified meetings per quarter, and closed $420K in new ARR in 2026.”

For account executive or SDR resumes, numbers carry the story. For account manager resumes, emphasize renewals, upsell, book of business size, and customer retention.

Interviews for sales jobs usually center on pipeline judgment, objection handling, quota history, and how you move deals from first outreach to close. For account executive, SDR, and customer-facing sales roles, expect detailed questions about territory planning, prospecting cadence, CRM hygiene, and how you qualified opportunities before spending time on them.

A common format is a mock discovery call or role-play. You may get a prompt like, *"Sell this product to a skeptical buyer"* or *"Walk me through how you'd handle a stalled deal."* Prepare a few examples with concrete metrics: pipeline created, conversion rate, average deal size, sales cycle length, renewal results, or quota attainment in 2026.

For sales operations or revenue-focused roles within the broader sales category, be ready for spreadsheet exercises, forecasting questions, and funnel analysis. If your background is more partnership or account management focused, practice examples around renewals, expansion, stakeholder management, and difficult client conversations. Keep each story tied to a sales motion, a target, and a measurable outcome.

- **Strategic Account Executive — ReFibuy, Inc. — Raleigh, NC**: **Raleigh, NC | In-office | Full-time**

Hey — Derek here, COO and co-founder of ReFiBuy. If you love opening doors at enterprise brands and retailers, teaching a buyer something they didn't know about their own business, and closing deals in a category that didn't exist two years ago: keep reading. Let's dig in.

A few quick notes up front:

- No recruiters, please.
- Applicants must have permanent work authorization in the US. We're not sponsoring visas for this role.
- This is an in-office role in Raleigh, NC with regular travel for prospect meetings and industry events.

### About the Role

We're hiring a Strategic Account Executive to own full-cycle sales into enterprise brands and retailers. You'll work a named territory of strategic accounts including enterprise brands and retailers, taking deals from first conversation through signed agreement.

This is a category-creation sale. Most of your buyers are actively trying to figure out agentic commerce right now. Your job is to teach, build urgency, and effectively run a high velocity sales process end-to-end. You'll build deep, trusted partnerships with your customers along the way that keep ReFiBuy top of mind as we ship new capabilities and offerings. You'll work closely with our Solutions Engineers, Product Managers, and Leadership Team to support the company’s growth objectives.

This is a seat for a self-starter. There's no SDR team feeding you meetings and no thick enablement binder, you'll own your accounts and build fast.

### What You'll Do

**Pipeline**

- Own a named territory of strategic accounts across enterprise brands, retailers, and agencies.
- Build qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting, inbound follow-up, conference presence, and partner referrals.
- Multi-thread into digital, ecommerce, and marketing organizations. From practitioner champions up to VP and C-level economic buyers.

**Full-cycle selling**

- Run consultative discovery that uncovers how AI shopping engines are already reshaping each prospect's discoverability and what it's costing them.
- Partner with Solutions Engineering on demos, technical deep-dives, and onboarding of the Commerce Intelligence Engine.
- Drive deals through evaluation, procurement, and legal; negotiate and structure agreements including pilot-to-contract conversions and multi-brand deals.
- Execute clean handoffs to Solutions Engineering and onboarding so customers hit the ground running.

**Customer partnership**

- You’ll build trusted, lasting relationships with your customers, being viewed as a strategic partner in their agentic commerce journey, not just the person who sold them software.
- Keep customers in the loop as we launch new capabilities and offerings that fit their needs, supporting customer growth and upsell opportunities.

**Operating rigor**

- Maintain tight CRM hygiene in HubSpot including accurate deal stages, next steps, and forecast commitments.
- Feed market intelligence back to product and leadership: what buyers ask for, how competitors position, where the category is heading.
- Represent ReFiBuy at industry events and contribute to the thought leadership that's building this category.

### What we're looking for

- 7+ years of quota-carrying B2B SaaS sales experience, with meaningful time selling into enterprise brands or retailers.
- Domain fluency in ecommerce, retail tech, digital shelf, marketplaces, and/or product-data infrastructure. You can talk catalogs, channels, and merchandising credibly on day one.
- Track record closing six-figure ACV deals with complex, multi-stakeholder buying committees.
- Comfortable selling an emerging category: you can teach, challenge, and create business cases to drive budget allocation.
- Disciplined operator with strong command of sales process, forecasting, and pipeline management.
- A true self-starter. You generate your own pipeline and set your own pace while being capable of adapting fast in a startup environment.
- You treat AI as a force multiplier, not a novelty. You've already built AI into your daily selling motion and you're eager to keep experimenting.

### Nice to Have

- Experience at a commerce-tech platform.
- Existing relationships with digital and ecommerce leaders at enterprise brands or retailers.
- Familiarity with AI shopping surfaces or structured product data (Google Merchant Center, schema, feeds).

### How We Work

Builder culture: fast iterations, real ownership, daily shipping. We're in the office because the best work happens shoulder-to-shoulder with the team you're building with. Fewer meetings, more co-creation, and a high bar for the quality of every demo, deployment, and follow-up we put our name on.

### Why ReFiBuy

- Help shape an emerging category at the intersection of AI and commerce — one of the most consequential platform shifts in retail in a decade.
- Work directly with proven ecommerce founders and an experienced team of operators with deep domain expertise.
- Direct impact on product direction and customer success — your patterns turn into our roadmap.
- Real ownership in a fast-moving, AI-native organization.

### Benefits

We're a seed-stage startup, and we've put real benefits in place — here's the deal:

- **Healthcare** — Three BCBS plans to choose from. ReFiBuy covers 80% of the base plan; you cover 20%.
- **Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance** — available alongside the medical plans.
- **401k** through Human Interest, with a company match: 100% of contributions up to 1% of salary plus 50% up to 5%. No vesting — it's yours from day one.
- **Incentive Stock Options (ISOs)** — you're getting in on the ground floor. 4-year vesting, quarterly.
- **PTO** — 15 days (120 hours) per year, accruing each pay period. PTO can be used as it accrues, carries over year-to-year up to a 120-hour cap, and unused PTO is paid out at the end of your service.
- **Office** – 1111 Haynes Street, Suite 113, Raleigh, NC 27604

Note: Benefits are eligible 30 days after start.

### About ReFiBuy

ReFiBuy is the Agentic Commerce Optimization (ACO) platform for brands, retailers, and agencies. We exist to help commerce teams compete and win in a world where AI shopping agents — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, and whatever ships next month — increasingly decide what gets discovered, recommended, and purchased.

The tools that power ecommerce today were never designed for agents. Product visibility used to depend on people typing keywords; now it depends on whether your product data is complete, structured, and intelligible to machines. We built ReFiBuy from the ground up as an AI-native, closed-loop platform — our Commerce Intelligence Engine ingests catalogs at the SKU level, evaluates how agentic engines interpret each product, enriches the gaps, distributes optimized data back to the engines, and monitors performance over time.

We were founded by four ecommerce operators with serious mileage — ChannelAdvisor, Rithum, MikMak, and Walmart — which makes us one of the most experienced AI startups in the Triangle. We're working with real brands and retailers (Steve Madden among them) on real catalogs, today.

Speed-wise: compared to a traditional company you'll feel like you're going 100x faster. Compared to a typical startup, 10-20x. If you like to build great and fast, be innovative, go home exhausted from learning so much, and ship work where the impact is immediate: you're going to love it here.

That's it for now — looking forward to meeting you.

— Derek Conlin, COO

**About the Role**

Within is seeking a Strategic Account Executive to own and close high-value deals within primarily the Financial Services and Private Equity verticals. You’ll be the tip of the spear - building a pipeline from scratch, running executive-level sales cycles, and converting Fortune-2000 financial institutions and leading PE firms into WithIn customers. This is a full-cycle closing role: you win when deals close and customers realize value.

You’ll own the entire sales motion from first outreach through signed contract, partnering with Solutions Consultants, Marketing, and Customer Success to qualify opportunities, navigate complex buying committees, and build business cases that resonate with VP, SVP, EVP, and C-Suite buyers. You understand the language of finance - IRR, portfolio operations, fund administration, regulatory compliance - and you use that fluency to position Within as a strategic investment, not just another software purchase.

This role requires someone who can walk into a boardroom of senior financial executives and command credibility from the first handshake. You’re as comfortable building a territory plan from a blank sheet of paper as you are negotiating a six-figure enterprise contract with a CFO. You thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and treat every deal like your own business.

**What You’ll Do**

- Build and own a territory of Financial Services and Private Equity accounts from the ground up - sourcing pipeline through outbound prospecting, executive networking, industry events, and strategic partnerships
- Run full-cycle enterprise sales processes targeting VP, SVP, EVP, and C-Suite decision-makers, from initial discovery and qualification through negotiation and close
- Develop deep domain expertise in Financial Services and Private Equity workflows to position Within’s AI platform as a transformative solution for portfolio operations, fund administration, compliance, and operational due diligence
- Craft and deliver compelling executive-level business cases, ROI analyses, and proposals tailored to the specific pain points and strategic priorities of each account
- Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder buying cycles across business leadership, IT, procurement, legal, and compliance - building consensus and urgency at every stage
- Partner with Solutions Consultants to orchestrate proof-of-value engagements that demonstrate Within’s impact using the prospect’s own data and processes
- Maintain disciplined pipeline management and accurate forecasting, leveraging MEDDPICC or equivalent qualification frameworks to drive deal rigor
- Serve as the voice of the Financial Services vertical internally, feeding market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback back to Product, Marketing, and Leadership
- Travel to meet customers and prospects in person - face time matters, and presence at critical deal moments is essential to success

**You May Be a Good Fit If You…**

- Have 7+ years of enterprise SaaS sales experience with a consistent track record of exceeding quota, including at least 3 years selling into Financial Services, banking, insurance, asset management, or Private Equity firms
- Have a proven history of building territory from scratch - you’ve done the zero-to-one work, not just inherited a book of business or rode a wave of inbound leads
- Are skilled at selling to senior executives (VP, SVP, EVP, C-Suite) and can articulate business value in the language of financial outcomes, not just product features
- Possess strong financial acumen - you understand how financial institutions and PE firms operate, how they evaluate technology investments, and what drives their decision-making
- Have experience managing complex, six- and seven-figure enterprise deal cycles with multiple stakeholders, long timelines, and rigorous procurement processes
- Display commitment and resilience with prior employers — we value loyalty and grit, and we’re not looking for candidates who jump every 18–24 months
- Are AI-native, not AI-adjacent - you intuitively understand and use AI in your own daily work to sharpen your craft, not just talk about it in meetings
- Have high coachability with no ego - this world is changing fast, and we need growth-mindset people willing to adapt with it
- Are customer-obsessed with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong opinions, and a bias for action

**Strong Candidates May Also…**

- Have direct experience selling AI or digital transformation technology into Financial Services or PE accounts and can articulate technical differentiation against both technology competitors and consulting-led alternatives
- Bring a rolodex of executive-level relationships across major financial institutions, PE firms, or portfolio companies that can be activated from day one
- Have experience partnering with or selling alongside Big-4 and management consulting firms - you understand how technology vendors co-sell with professional services organizations in financial services
- Have sold into complex regulatory environments and understand the compliance, security, and data governance requirements that Financial Services buyers demand
- Bring a track record of building sales playbooks, account plans, and go-to-market strategies for new verticals from scratch - you’ve done the zero-to-one work, not just executed an existing motion
- Can balance strategic, long-cycle deal management with the hustle and urgency of an early-stage sales organization - and actually enjoy both

You use AI to sharpen prospecting, manage your time, stay organized, and prioritize your day to maximize results. Building your own Agents and Skills is a plus.
- **Loyalty & Resilience**: Commitment to prior employers. We want people who dig in when things get hard, not people who optimize for optionality.

## FAQ

### What types of roles usually appear on a Sales Jobs page?

A Sales Jobs page usually covers several sales tracks rather than one title. You may see account executive, sales development, business development, account management, and sales operations openings, depending on what is live in September 2026. The page title points to sales work broadly, so the mix can include both customer-facing and pipeline-focused roles.

### Are remote sales jobs included on this Sales Jobs page?

They can be. Sales Jobs listings often include a mix of remote, hybrid, and on-site roles when employers use different workplace setups for account executive, SDR, or account manager positions. The best way to read the page is to check each posting for its stated work pattern, since remote availability can vary across sales teams and hiring cycles in 2026.

### Do I need direct sales experience to apply for sales jobs?

Not every Sales Jobs listing asks for the same background. Some roles, especially sales development or entry-level business development openings, may be more open to earlier-career applicants than senior account executive or account management roles. The key is to compare the title and seniority in each posting rather than assume every sales job on the page expects the same track record.

### Which sales roles are more focused on outreach versus closing?

On a broad Sales Jobs page, sales development and business development roles are often more outreach-heavy, with attention on prospecting and early pipeline activity. Account executive roles are usually closer to demos, negotiations, and closing. Account manager openings can lean more toward client retention and expansion. Reading the title carefully helps you separate prospecting work from closing work.

### How should I tailor my resume for Sales Jobs?

Match your resume to the specific sales lane shown in the posting. For an SDR or business development role, emphasize outreach, lead generation, and pipeline support. For account executive or account manager jobs, focus on closing, renewals, or client ownership. If you want a quicker pass before applying, LiftmyCV can help you tighten resume language around the exact sales title.

### Are entry-level sales jobs likely to be listed here?

They often are, especially on a broad Sales Jobs page that may include sales development or junior business development openings alongside more experienced account executive roles. Entry level does not mean identical requirements, though. Some listings may still ask for customer-facing experience, while others are clearly structured around early-career sales work in September 2026.

### What should I look for before applying to a sales job posting?

Start with the role title and workplace setup, then look at whether the posting centers on prospecting, closing, account growth, or sales support. A Sales Jobs page can group together SDR, account executive, account manager, and sales operations openings, and those jobs are not interchangeable. Checking those details first helps you avoid applying to the wrong sales track.

### Apply to Sales Jobs on AI Autopilot

LiftmyCV uses AI matching to surface sales jobs that fit your background, then helps tailor your resume and auto-apply to relevant openings. It cuts down the manual work so you can focus on the roles you actually want.
