The Developer Productivity Programme equips thousands of government engineers with the platforms, tools, and practices they need to ship faster, more safely, and with greater confidence. This is a platform product role. The programme's product suite spans CI/CD, Managed Runtimes, AI tooling and enablement, as well as surfacing data, insights and productivity metrics to stakeholders. We serve close to 100 government agencies and thousands of developers, including vendors who build and maintain government systems. A key part of the programme's direction is deepening AI usage for developers, from running experiments and building agentic workflows to ensuring the right security guardrails are in place for AI-assisted development at scale. We are seeking a Principal Product Manager who combines strong product leadership with a genuine understanding of developers and how they work. The best person for this role has a feel for what makes developer tools great, cares deeply about the developer experience, and can bring both strategic vision and practical credibility to the role. [What you will be working on] Product Strategy, Portfolio Health and New Product Development You will own the product strategy across the programme's full portfolio. This means building strategy grounded in user insights, market trends, and organisational goals, translating them into OKRs and long-term roadmaps, and driving execution within and across teams. You will define the right success metrics across the programme and products, track them consistently, and follow up to ensure the insights are being acted on. Products must not just be built and launched but actively used, delivering genuine value to users, and financially sustainable. You will also be expected to envision what comes next. Whole-of-Government Adoption and Stakeholder Engagement You will drive adoption of developer productivity tools across the Whole of Government. Government agencies are at different stages of digital maturity and the approach must account for that, meeting agencies where they are while progressively raising the bar. You will work with counterparts from engineering, policy, security, and operations to unblock challenges in product rollouts, whether navigating policy constraints, meeting security and compliance requirements, or building the guardrails that allow teams to move forward. AI Product Leadership You will define how the programme's products evolve to support an AI-native software development lifecycle. The programme works with and integrates AI developer tools, including building components and workflows that extend their capabilities for the government context. You will shape the product vision for AI-enabled developer tooling at scale, ensuring the portfolio helps government engineering teams adopt AI across how they write, review, test, and ship code. Go-to-Market Leadership You will own the go-to-market function for the programme's products, including platform pricing strategy and working with Comms and Marketing on positioning and communications. You are accountable for ensuring that what gets built also gets adopted. Team Leadership and Talent Development You will lead and grow a team of Product Managers, setting high standards for product craft and mentoring individuals on analysis, strategy, and execution. You will actively develop future leaders within the team. [What we are looking for] Significant experience in product management, with a proven track record of owning product strategy for complex, multi-product portfolios and driving outcomes across multiple teams. A developer or engineering background, or deep experience working alongside engineering teams. Someone who has used developer tools, has strong opinions about what makes them good, and can speak with authority on what great looks like. The kind of person who tinkers, experiments out of curiosity, and instinctively understands the difference between a tool that empowers developers and one that gets in their way. Deep empathy for developers as users and a clear understanding of what enterprises and government agencies need from developer tooling at scale, including how to navigate policy constraints and compliance requirements without blocking adoption. Demonstrated ability to build product strategy from user insights and market trends. Experience owning go-to-market strategy including pricing, positioning, and communications. Strong cross-organisational skills. Able to work with counterparts from engineering, policy, operations, and other product teams, influence at the executive level, and build the relationships needed to get things done in a complex organisation. Proven ability to cultivate high-performing teams, mentor product managers, and actively develop future leaders. Growth Product Manager
HybridGrowth Product Manager The Role We're at the point where the right product decisions compound into real market share, and the wrong ones cost us the window entirely. As Growth Product Manager, you'll own a stream's full business outcome: the exact right product to build, shipped ahead of schedule, and adopted and loved by the clinicians who use it every day. You're accountable for the number, not the roadmap that was supposed to move it. You've owned funnel conversion and activation targets before, and you think in terms of what actually moves adoption, not what looks good in a planning doc. You translate easily between clinicians, engineers, and commercial teams without ever reaching for PM jargon, and you naturally think in terms of the ideal product state rather than waiting to be told what to change. You operate with high agency. You're relentless about the outcome being yours, and you'd rather ship something imperfect and learn fast than over-invest in discovery. About Us Every day in Australia, 10 people die from preventable medical errors, not from incurable diseases, but from misdiagnosis, missed information, and clinicians making decisions under impossible pressure. At the centre of that failure is a doctor spending 40% of their day on paperwork instead of patients. Lyrebird is fixing that. We turn real clinical conversations into accurate notes, automatically, backed by ambient real time document creation, intelligent document management and clinical workflow automation, native patient data integrations across siloed health systems, and a patient and clinical communications layer. Thousands of clinicians across multiple disciplines use Lyrebird every day in environments where accuracy, safety, and time matter deeply. We're growing fast across Melbourne, the UK, and Asia, and there's a finite window right now to set the standard for clinical AI in Australia before anyone else does. What you'll do Own your stream's North Star metric end to end, and everything required to move it: the product decisions, the design calls, the launch, and the adoption curve after it evidencing clinicians love it. Drive adoption and retention of what ships, holding yourself to the GA unlock threshold on every project rather than treating launch as the finish line. Run growth-led discovery: identify the funnel and activation levers most likely to move your number, and build the fastest path to validating them. Translate strategy into what your team does day to day, so priorities visibly ladder up to the business outcome you own. Partner directly with engineering and design to shape solutions, not just requirements, and earn the credibility to be in the room for both. Build with modern AI tools as part of how you work, using them to move faster from insight to shipped product. Pressure-test your own bets honestly. When something doesn't work, say so early and move; you own your north star. What you'll bring A track record of owning a product outcome with clear growth targets, ideally with experience across funnel conversion and activation. Genuine operator instincts: you've owned P L-level or growth-level accountability, not just contributed to a team that had it. The ability to move fluidly between a clinician's clinic-day reality, an engineering trade-off, and a commercial forecast without losing precision or hiding in process. Product judgement, not just product process: you have instincts about the right product decision or UX call, and can defend them. A bias toward shipping and learning fast over exhaustive discovery, balanced with genuine care for the clinicians and patients on the other end of it. Nice to have Familiarity with clinical or healthcare workflows. Hands-on experience building with AI tools toward a commercial or user outcome, not just for personal interest. Experience growing a product across multiple markets or geographies. Background in a regulated or high-trust industry where speed and rigour both matter. Experience operating in a high-growth, founder-led startup where the process is still being built. Our Benefits Parental Leave: 14 weeks paid leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks for secondary caregivers. Flexible Work: a hybrid model for our Melbourne team, because great work happens in more places than the office. Health Wellbeing: wellness initiatives, yearly flu jabs, and free confidential access to our Employee Assistance Program. Work from Anywhere: take up to 6 weeks a year to work from wherever inspires you. Career Development: coaching, mentoring, courses, and lunch and learns. Growth here isn't accidental, it's something we invest in deliberately. Social Club: monthly team lunches and quarterly offsites, because work is better when you genuinely like the people you do it with. Breakfast Snack Bar: a fully stocked kitchen, kombucha included. Referral Program: earn real money for bringing great people into a great team. Behind every metric you move is a clinician who gets more time with their patients, and a patient who gets a doctor who isn't distracted by paperwork. This role exists because that time matters, and because the right person in this seat can win back more of it than almost anyone else at the company. We're building a team that reflects the diversity of the people who benefit from our work. We want Lyrebird to be a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to thrive. If you're from an underrepresented background in tech, we strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet every requirement.

"For product manager jobs in 2026, the clearer pattern is less about title inflation and more about scope. Teams often sort candidates by the kind of product work they’ve actually owned, from discovery and roadmap tradeoffs to launch execution and cross-functional alignment with design, engineering, and go-to-market partners. I’d expect more traction for PMs who can show judgment in ambiguous product decisions, not just feature delivery or backlog ownership."

How to Land a Product Manager Job in 2026
The clearest applications usually show a lane, not a vague claim to "owning product." If your background leans B2B SaaS, consumer growth, platform, marketplace, or data-heavy product work, name that directly and carry it through your title, summary, and recent experience. A PM application reads better when the reader can quickly place you in a product context with familiar metrics, stakeholders, and tradeoffs.
What matters most is evidence that you can move a product from problem definition to shipped outcome. In practice, that means showing how you framed a user or business problem, prioritized a roadmap, worked with engineering and design, and made calls with imperfect information. Product Manager listings often split between discovery-heavy roles, execution-heavy roles, and platform or technical PM work, so your materials should mirror that split. A growth-oriented PM should highlight experimentation, funnel work, and lifecycle decisions. A platform PM should make APIs, internal tools, system dependencies, and cross-team planning easy to spot.
Your search strategy should be just as specific. Filter Product Manager openings by lane, seniority, and product environment, then apply in clusters where your examples actually fit the brief. A candidate with zero-to-one product launches should not present the same story to a mature platform role and a consumer growth role. In August 2026, a tighter search usually produces better traction than broad PM outreach because the strongest signal is relevance to the product problem the team is already hiring around.
For search flow, LiftmyCV keeps Product Manager listings grouped by fit signals like lane and seniority, which makes it easier to prioritize matching roles and auto-apply across the subset that lines up with your product background.

Resume Tips
For Product Manager roles, your resume should read like a record of product decisions, shipped work, and measurable business results. Lead with roadmap ownership, feature launches, pricing or packaging input, experimentation, and cross-functional work with engineering, design, data, and go-to-market teams. If you’ve worked in B2B SaaS, consumer apps, marketplaces, fintech, healthtech, or internal tools, name the product area clearly so the scope is easy to place.
Keep tools and methods concrete. Mention SQL, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Looker, Tableau, Jira, Confluence, Figma, A/B testing, user research, backlog prioritization, PRDs, and KPI tracking when they were part of the job. Certifications can help at the margin, but shipped products, adoption metrics, retention gains, conversion lifts, and launch ownership carry more weight than a long list of courses. Cut generic lines about being a people person, strategic thinker, or working well in cross-functional environments unless the bullet proves it.
- A weak bullet for a Product Manager resume is: “Responsible for managing product roadmap and working with stakeholders.”
- A stronger version is: “Owned roadmap for onboarding flow in 2026, partnered with design and engineering to ship 4 releases, and improved activation by 18% through funnel analysis in Amplitude and weekly experiment reviews.”
How to Prepare for Interviews
Product Manager interviews usually test how you think through product decisions, not just how well you can talk about shipping features. For Product Manager jobs, expect case-style prompts such as How would you improve onboarding for a subscription app? or What metrics would you track after launching this feature? Be ready to explain tradeoffs, prioritization, and what success looked like in numbers.
Many Product Manager loops also include execution and collaboration questions. You may be asked to walk through a roadmap decision, handle a disagreement with engineering or design, or respond to a drop in activation, retention, or conversion. Prepare a few examples with clear context, your decision process, the metric you owned, and the outcome.
For 2026 applications, it helps to practice short product cases out loud and review past launches in a structured way: problem, user, constraints, decision, result. If the role leans technical, expect basic system or API discussion. If it leans growth, be ready for funnel analysis and experiment design.
