As the leader in AI code verification and governance, we solve a critical problem: ensuring that software generated by AI-assisted developers or autonomous agents is reliable, secure, and maintainable. Integrating seamlessly with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, and Devin, we help over 75% of the Fortune 100 build trusted, reliable, compliant software. Customers who use Sonar are 44% less likely to report an outage due to AI-generated code. We believe code verification is the critical missing link in the Agent-Centric Development Cycle (AC/DC). Industry giants like Nvidia, ServiceNow, Booking.com, Goldman Sachs, AstraZeneca, and Ford Motor Company count on us to provide independent, explainable, consistent review and governance of their AI-generated code via products like: SonarQube: The world’s leading AI code review and verification platform. SonarQube Foundation Agent: Currently topping the leaderboards for agentic software repair. SonarSweep Sonar Context Augmentation: Providing the enterprise-grade context and constraints agents need to be truly effective. Our team operates across global hubs in Austin, Bochum, Dubai, Geneva, London, San Mateo (California), Singapore, Tokyo, and Washington D.C. We move with a mindset we call CODE: Committed to our customers and community. Obsessed with quality. Deliberate in our decisions. Effective as one team. With over $400M in revenue and profitable, fast-paced growth, we are building the backbone of the AI software revolution. If you’re hungry to have an impact, want to build at a fast pace, and ready to work at the forefront of AI, we want to hear from you. Position description Sonar’s EMEA and APAC footprint spans multiple legal jurisdictions, employment frameworks, and cultural contexts, from London to Geneva to Singapore. This role exists to give that population two things at once: a trusted HRBP who understands the business and the region, and a specialist who owns employee relations with the rigor and consistency a scaling, multi-jurisdiction company needs. You will carry a dual mandate. As HRBP, you will be the day-to-day partner for leaders across EMEA and APAC, helping them make sound performance decisions and be a trusted partner to the business and its leaders. As the region’s Employee Relations specialist, you will own case management, investigations, and workplace practice end-to-end, working daily alongside our Head of Employment Law (based in Austin) to make sure every case is handled compliantly, consistently, and compassionately. Your impact will show up in two ways: HRBP outcomes (org health, manager capability, retention) for the leaders you support, and ER outcomes (case volume, time-to-resolution, consistency of practice, and legal risk reduction) across the region. What you will do HRBP Act as strategic HRBP for leaders across EMEA (Germany, UK, France, Switzerland) and APAC (Singapore, Japan), advising on org design, workforce planning, performance, and team dynamics with data and a point of view, not just a summary. Use the HRBP people dashboard and org health data to prepare insights for leadership and manager 1:1s, flagging risks and decisions before they become urgent. Support integration and engagement of new EMEA/APAC hires, partnering with Recruiting and People Ops on time-to-productivity and onboarding quality. Translate global People strategy (career frameworks, calibration, internal mobility, compensation philosophy) into guidance that works across EMEA and APAC’s different regulatory and cultural contexts. Employee Relations Workplace Practices Own employee relations cases end-to-end across EMEA and APAC. Performance, conduct, grievance, and exit cases — from intake through resolution. Lead workplace investigations with rigor and discretion, producing findings and recommendations that hold up to scrutiny. Partner daily with the Head of Employment Law (Austin) on complex or high-risk cases, ensuring practice stays aligned with employment law across every jurisdiction you cover. Build and maintain the region’s ER case management framework, investigation protocols, and workplace policies, keeping them current as regulation evolves (UK, EU, and APAC employment law; EU AI Act and GDPR implications for People decisions). Train and coach managers on early intervention and proactive feedback, working to reduce ER case volume over time, not just close what lands on your desk. Report on ER metrics, case volume, time-to-close, and risk exposure, to give leadership a clear, data-backed view of workplace health across the region. Experience and qualifications 7+ years combining HR Business Partner work with employee relations case management or workplace investigations, ideally across multiple jurisdictions. Direct experience partnering with in-house or external employment law counsel on complex, high-stakes cases. Experience supporting EMEA and/or APAC populations, comfortable with the added complexity of multiple legal systems and cultural norms in one remit. Experience in a high-growth technology company where pace is fast and ambiguity is normal. Hard skills Solid grounding in UK and EU employment law fundamentals, with working familiarity with APAC frameworks (or a fast learner’s ability to build it) Proven experience leading formal workplace investigations, from intake and evidence-gathering to written findings. Comfortable with HRIS platforms (BambooHR or equivalent) and building your own data-driven narratives without relying on an analyst. Familiar with, or actively curious about, AI tools in the HR workflow (Glean, Claude, or similar), with the judgment to evaluate outputs critically and own the final call. How you show up Discreet and trusted: people bring you sensitive situations because you handle them with judgment, confidentiality, and consistency. Direct communicator: you bring leaders clear choices and a recommendation, not an escalation without a point of view. Courageous: you hold the line on fairness and doing the right thing, especially when a case is uncomfortable. Structured under pressure: investigations and ER cases don’t wait for a good day, you stay organised and even-handed when things get tense. In-office culture We're intentional about this. We believe the best teams are built in the room together. Three anchor days — Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays — create the collaboration rhythm that makes a hub office worth having. Candidates need to be genuinely based in the location the role is posted — if that's not where you are today, we're happy to support relocation for the right person. We value diversity, equity, and inclusion At Sonar, we believe that our diversity is our strength. We are a global company that values and respects different backgrounds, perspectives, and cultures. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome all qualified applicants, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status. If you need any accommodation, please reach out to us at [email protected] . All offers of employment at Sonar are contingent upon the results of a comprehensive background check and reference verification conducted before the start date. Applications that are submitted through agencies or third party recruiters will not be considered.

Your days will mix strategic work – designing and rolling out an EVP – with the hands-on side: recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, terminations, and everything in between. And you’ll do it for an unusual population: the ~45 people who help our whole portfolio of software companies run successfully, including our Portfolio Executive Team. The team is fully remote and is spread mainly across the UK, US and Canada. Our Portfolio (and therefore our Portfolio Team) sits inside Volaris Group, part of Constellation Software Inc. Our culture puts people at the centre: we give people what matters to them, we trust their judgement, and we invest in them. High challenge, high support – and accelerated development as a result. This is a stand alone HR role however you will benefit from the company of senior HR professionals within the Portfolio team population as well as an extensive global Volaris HR network also. What You’ll Be Doing You will be a one-person HR team - building before maintaining. From hire to exit, you own how each part of the lifecycle should work – and that means designing it and then doing it. Strategic and hands-on work, side by side. Real variety, not a narrow lane. Supporting employees and partnering with management – shaping people decisions as well as executing them Owning talent, succession, and development thinking for the population Shaping engagement, culture, and our employer value proposition – built around what matters to our people, prioritising personalisation over one-size-fits-all Leading recruitment, selection and onboarding for new Portfolio Team members – a real experience, not a standard process Using AI to sharpen the employee experience and spot efficiency or automation opportunities Leading on compensation and reward, from benchmarking to creative recognition Partnering with suppliers (e.g. benefits brokers) to agree commercials, contracts, and roll out enhancements or training that improve the employee experience Being the trusted advisor on sensitive people issues, ensuring risk is minimised Making sure people leave as well as they arrive, so they leave as advocates Getting the foundations right – light-touch policies, payroll and benefits administration, legal entity structure, and high-quality people data management using our core HR systems – and becoming the go-to expert on all of it What Success Looks Like The ambition is simple: the Portfolio should set the standard for what a great place to work looks like: High talent density – the right people, doing work that matters High engagement that keeps climbing, not just a score we measure High retention – our best people stay, and bring more great people to us Who This Role Suits 5+ years’ experience at HRBP / senior HRBP / HR Manager level, including direct experience working with C-suite stakeholders Experience of working both strategically and operationally Comfortable working with data, data analysis and sharing insights with audiences from employee to C-suite Personally led sensitive or complex ER cases start to finish, without close oversight Highly commercial, comfortable with discretion, and credible in front of senior executives Experience of working with UK-based and North American employee populations Workday experience and software industry experience is advantageous but not essential Right to work in the UK – we’re not able to sponsor for this role What We Offer Flexibility – Fully remote within the UK, full time or part time - flexible 4- or 5-day working pattern (minimum 30 hours per week) Compensation – Excellent base salary plus a 10–15% bonus (pro-rata if part time) Benefits – Private Medical Insurance, Health Cash Plan, Enhanced Pension, Life Assurance, and 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays Real career development, mobility and access to a network of HR professionals across a global software group How to Apply If this sounds like the right fit for you, click ‘apply’ and submit your CV via the online application process. "HR hiring in 2026 often splits into a few distinct lanes. Companies still need hands-on recruiters and HR generalists who can keep day-to-day people operations moving, but there’s also steady interest in specialists across compensation, benefits, HRIS, employee relations, and talent programs. What tends to matter most is range: employers may want someone who can handle policy, systems, and stakeholder communication without losing the operational detail that keeps an HR function credible."

Marina's Market Take

Senior HR Leader & Lead Tech Recruiter

How to Land a HR (Human Resources) Role in 2026

HR hiring in 2026 is usually less about calling yourself a generalist and more about showing a clear lane. On a broad HR jobs page, that often means positioning yourself for one of a few recognizable tracks: HR generalist and business partner work, talent acquisition and recruiting, people operations and HRIS support, or compensation, benefits, and compliance. Your application should make that lane obvious from the first few lines through the tools, processes, and employee groups you’ve handled.

For HR generalist or HRBP roles, emphasize employee relations, policy interpretation, onboarding, performance cycles, leave administration, and manager support. If your background is closer to recruiting, be specific about requisition ownership, sourcing channels, interview coordination, stakeholder communication, and the kinds of roles you’ve filled. For people operations openings, lead with systems work such as HRIS data accuracy, workflow management, documentation, audits, reporting, and process cleanup. If you’re targeting benefits or compliance roles, spell out your exposure to enrollments, documentation, investigations, I-9 or similar recordkeeping, and policy administration.

Your search strategy in August 2026 should stay narrow enough that your profile matches the posting language. If you’ve worked across several HR functions, don’t present everything with equal weight. Reorder your experience so the target lane comes first, and use the exact operational terms tied to that work, whether that is employee relations, ATS coordination, Workday support, payroll partnership, or benefits administration.

It also helps to show the scale and setting of your HR work without forcing numbers. Mention whether you supported hourly teams, corporate staff, multi-site operations, remote onboarding, or high-volume recruiting.

Resume Tips

For HR (Human Resources) jobs, center your resume on the work HR teams actually own: recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HRIS administration, benefits support, compliance documentation, payroll coordination, and performance processes. If you’ve used tools like Workday, ADP, BambooHR, Greenhouse, Lever, UKG, or SAP SuccessFactors, name them clearly in context instead of burying them in a skills list.

Keep bullets tied to HR outcomes and process ownership. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or coursework completed in 2026 can help, especially for generalist, people operations, and HR coordinator tracks. For recruiting-heavy resumes, show req volume, interview scheduling, offer coordination, and candidate communication. For employee relations or HR operations work, show policy handling, documentation accuracy, audits, leave administration, and cross-functional support with managers or payroll.

Cut generic lines about being a people person, strong communicator, or helping with administrative tasks. Replace them with specifics.

  • Weak: “Responsible for onboarding new hires and supporting HR activities.”
  • Strong: “Coordinated onboarding for 45 new hires across 3 departments, managed I-9 and benefits enrollment paperwork, and maintained employee records in Workday with accurate status updates.”

How to Prepare for Interviews

HR interviews usually dig into judgment, documentation, and how you handle people problems without losing sight of policy. For HR generalist, recruiter, people operations, and employee relations roles, expect scenario questions about conflict, performance issues, leave requests, hiring manager pushback, or a sensitive complaint. A common format is a situational prompt such as, "How would you respond if a manager wants to terminate someone without clear documentation?"

Prepare 4 to 6 examples that show investigations, onboarding, recruiting coordination, policy communication, HRIS use, or process improvements. If your background includes recruiting, be ready to discuss funnel metrics, stakeholder management, and how you calibrated candidates with hiring teams. For people ops or HR operations roles, you may get a workflow exercise tied to compliance, records, audits, or onboarding steps.

For 2026, it helps to practice concise answers that show discretion, employment law awareness, and clean follow-through. Bring examples with timelines, actions, and outcomes, especially where you balanced employee experience with policy.
