UX/UI Designer
RemoteDo you instinctively click through a competitor's checkout just to see where they're losing people? Do you open a PDP and immediately start forming hypotheses before you've even read the copy? Freebird® is a 9-figure DTC brand serving over 2 million customers and redefining grooming for the modern consumer. We've built one of the strongest paid acquisition engines in DTC. The next phase of growth isn't about more traffic. It's about designing experiences that convert, retain, and compound. We're looking for a UX/UI Designer who doesn't just make things look good, but builds the design system and conversion-focused surfaces that make the numbers move. This role owns the Freebird visual execution layer, the component library that scales it, and the high-stakes pages where customers decide whether to buy. This is not a "here are the brand guidelines, go design some screens" role. You'll be hands-on in Figma every day, running A/B test variants, maintaining a design system that the entire organization depends on, and shipping production-ready work within sprint cadence, with metrics attached to every major decision. You'll report to the Senior Director of Design and partner closely with our CRO Manager. This role is 100% remote. We require meaningful overlap with US working hours. If you think in components, conversion hypotheses, and funnel mechanics, and you've been waiting for a seat where design decisions are measured, not debated, this role is for you. What You'll Own: Design the Surfaces That Drive Revenue Own UX/UI for conversion-critical pages, including PDPs, checkout flows, landing pages, CTAs, and post-purchase experiences. Design every A/B test variant with a clear hypothesis and defined success metric before it goes into development. Evaluate test results and iterate. Winning patterns get documented, while losing variants get analyzed. Partner with the CRO Manager to build and maintain a design hypothesis backlog that is never empty or stale. Identify friction points in the customer journey using heatmaps, session replays, and analytics, then turn insights into test briefs. Build and Own the Freebird Design System The design system is not a side project. It is the foundation that makes everything else scalable. Own the component library, design tokens, and pattern documentation in Figma. Maintain version control and governance so the system grows predictably without introducing drift. Act as the consistency gatekeeper by reviewing team output, flagging deviations, and evolving the system as Freebird's product lines expand. Create clear specifications and acceptance criteria that enable smooth implementation with minimal back-and-forth. Ship Production-Ready UI at Sprint Velocity Take stakeholder briefs to polished, production-ready designs within sprint cadence. Maintain pixel-perfect execution across web and app experiences. Deliver clean handoffs to the development team with complete specifications, interaction notes, and edge-case coverage. Contribute to sprint planning and grooming by estimating work accurately, flagging risks early, and delivering on commitments. Scale the Design Function Help establish scalable design practices as the team grows, including critique culture, file organization, and handoff standards. Set the quality bar the team builds toward through strong execution and high standards. What Success Looks Like Within your first 6-12 months: A documented, scalable design system is used consistently across all digital touchpoints. A steady cadence of design-led experiments ships alongside the CRO roadmap. Measurable improvements in CTR, CVR, or AOV are directly tied to design decisions you made. Design handoffs are clean, complete, and require minimal clarification from engineering. Junior designers have a clear quality standard and structured way of working. You become the internal authority on the Freebird design system and its evolution.

"Remote edtech hiring in 2026 tends to reward people who can connect the product to real learning workflows. For engineering and product roles, that often means comfort with classroom, LMS, assessment, or learner-data constraints. For curriculum, customer success, sales, and operations roles, employers usually want evidence that you understand schools, districts, instructors, or workforce training buyers. The remote part helps widen the pool, but edtech still screens closely for domain judgment."
Marina's Market Take
Senior HR Leader & Lead Tech Recruiter
How to Land a Remote Edtech Role in 2026
Remote edtech jobs usually sit at the intersection of learning, software, student support, and institutional workflows. In 2026, your application should show which lane you belong in, because a curriculum designer, customer success manager, product manager, learning engineer, and sales development rep solve very different problems even when they all work for education companies.
For product, design, and engineering roles, emphasize shipped work tied to learning platforms, assessments, content delivery, accessibility, integrations, analytics, or user flows for students, teachers, administrators, or training teams. If your background includes LMS tools, cohort-based learning, video products, mobile learning, or data privacy constraints, name those directly and connect them to the product area in the job description.
For curriculum, instructional design, tutoring operations, and learner support roles, lead with the audience you’ve served and the format you know best. K-12, higher education, workforce training, test prep, and corporate learning all carry different expectations. Applications read better when they show the subject area, learner level, delivery model, assessment style, and tools used to build or support instruction.
- Choose a lane before applying: Separate searches for remote instructional design, edtech customer success, learning product, curriculum operations, education sales, and support roles so your positioning doesn’t blur.
- Show remote operating habits: Mention async documentation, cross-time-zone collaboration, ticketing systems, virtual classroom tools, CRM workflows, or product tracking tools when they are part of your actual experience.
- Match the education context: A role selling to school districts is not the same as supporting adult learners or building tools for universities, so mirror the buyer, learner, or institution named in the posting.
- Prioritize evidence over enthusiasm: Use examples tied to course launches, learner outcomes, support volume, implementation work, platform adoption, content QA, or product releases where you have them.
LiftmyCV helps you find remote edtech jobs that match your skills, experience, and preferred work style, then auto-apply to relevant roles faster.
Required Skills
Resume Tips
For remote edtech jobs, your resume should connect education knowledge with the way digital learning products are built, sold, supported, and improved. Highlight experience with LMS platforms such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Schoology, or Google Classroom, plus tools like Zoom, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Figma, SQL, Looker, Zendesk, or Intercom when they match the posting. Certifications such as Google Certified Educator, instructional design certificates, Scrum, HubSpot, Salesforce, or accessibility training can help when they support the role, but cut unrelated coursework, classroom anecdotes, or tool lists that never appear in your bullets.
Present proof differently by function. Instructional designers should show course builds, learning objectives, assessment design, accessibility checks, and learner completion data. Customer success and implementation resumes should show onboarding, renewal support, training sessions, ticket resolution, and school or district rollouts. Product, design, analytics, and engineering candidates should focus on shipped features, student or educator workflows, research findings, dashboards, integrations, and release outcomes.
Weak bullet: “Helped teachers use online learning software.”
Stronger bullet: “Led remote onboarding for 42 teachers on Canvas and Zoom workflows, creating training guides that reduced repeat support questions during the first month of rollout.”
Keep remote work visible. Mention distributed teams, async documentation, live virtual training, CRM notes, support queues, or cross-functional work with curriculum, product, and school operations teams in 2026.
How to Prepare for Interviews
Remote edtech interviews often test how well you understand learners, teachers, school administrators, and distributed product teams. For product, curriculum, and instructional design roles, prepare a short case study that shows how you improved a course flow, lesson sequence, onboarding path, or assessment experience, using metrics such as completion, engagement, retention, or learner satisfaction where you have them.
For engineering and data roles, expect technical screens tied to learning platforms, analytics pipelines, accessibility, integrations, or scale. A common format is a system design prompt, such as explaining how you would support live classes, progress tracking, or role-based access for students, instructors, and admins.
For customer success, implementation, sales, and partnerships roles, practice walking through a school rollout, renewal risk, LMS migration, or district stakeholder call. Remote edtech teams in 2026 will usually want clear examples of async communication, documentation, cross-functional work with product or support, and comfort translating education needs into practical next steps.
