UX/UI Designer
RemoteDo you instinctively click through a competitor's checkout just to see where they're losing people? Do you open a PDP and immediately start forming hypotheses before you've even read the copy? Freebird® is a 9-figure DTC brand serving over 2 million customers and redefining grooming for the modern consumer. We've built one of the strongest paid acquisition engines in DTC. The next phase of growth isn't about more traffic. It's about designing experiences that convert, retain, and compound. We're looking for a UX/UI Designer who doesn't just make things look good, but builds the design system and conversion-focused surfaces that make the numbers move. This role owns the Freebird visual execution layer, the component library that scales it, and the high-stakes pages where customers decide whether to buy. This is not a "here are the brand guidelines, go design some screens" role. You'll be hands-on in Figma every day, running A/B test variants, maintaining a design system that the entire organization depends on, and shipping production-ready work within sprint cadence, with metrics attached to every major decision. You'll report to the Senior Director of Design and partner closely with our CRO Manager. This role is 100% remote. We require meaningful overlap with US working hours. If you think in components, conversion hypotheses, and funnel mechanics, and you've been waiting for a seat where design decisions are measured, not debated, this role is for you. What You'll Own: Design the Surfaces That Drive Revenue Own UX/UI for conversion-critical pages, including PDPs, checkout flows, landing pages, CTAs, and post-purchase experiences. Design every A/B test variant with a clear hypothesis and defined success metric before it goes into development. Evaluate test results and iterate. Winning patterns get documented, while losing variants get analyzed. Partner with the CRO Manager to build and maintain a design hypothesis backlog that is never empty or stale. Identify friction points in the customer journey using heatmaps, session replays, and analytics, then turn insights into test briefs. Build and Own the Freebird Design System The design system is not a side project. It is the foundation that makes everything else scalable. Own the component library, design tokens, and pattern documentation in Figma. Maintain version control and governance so the system grows predictably without introducing drift. Act as the consistency gatekeeper by reviewing team output, flagging deviations, and evolving the system as Freebird's product lines expand. Create clear specifications and acceptance criteria that enable smooth implementation with minimal back-and-forth. Ship Production-Ready UI at Sprint Velocity Take stakeholder briefs to polished, production-ready designs within sprint cadence. Maintain pixel-perfect execution across web and app experiences. Deliver clean handoffs to the development team with complete specifications, interaction notes, and edge-case coverage. Contribute to sprint planning and grooming by estimating work accurately, flagging risks early, and delivering on commitments. Scale the Design Function Help establish scalable design practices as the team grows, including critique culture, file organization, and handoff standards. Set the quality bar the team builds toward through strong execution and high standards. What Success Looks Like Within your first 6-12 months: A documented, scalable design system is used consistently across all digital touchpoints. A steady cadence of design-led experiments ships alongside the CRO roadmap. Measurable improvements in CTR, CVR, or AOV are directly tied to design decisions you made. Design handoffs are clean, complete, and require minimal clarification from engineering. Junior designers have a clear quality standard and structured way of working. You become the internal authority on the Freebird design system and its evolution.

"Remote UI Designer hiring in 2026 tends to reward designers who can show how screens actually behave across product flows, not just polished static mockups. For these roles, portfolios need to make remote collaboration visible: Figma decisions, design system usage, handoff notes, accessibility thinking, and iteration with product or engineering. The best signals are usually practical ones, such as clean component logic, crisp interaction details, and evidence that the designer can move work forward without constant in-person review."

How to Land a Remote UI Designer Job in 2026
Remote UI designer jobs in 2026 usually reward candidates who can show clean interface craft, independent product judgment, and comfort working without constant live review. Your application should make the remote part credible: show how you move from requirements to wireframes, polished screens, design-system components, and handoff notes across tools like Figma, Slack, Jira, Linear, or Notion.
Position yourself around a clear UI lane. If your strongest work is product UI, lead with flows, dashboards, settings pages, onboarding screens, or mobile app interfaces. If you lean toward visual design, show typography, spacing, color systems, component states, and brand consistency across real product screens. For design-system roles, emphasize reusable components, variants, documentation, accessibility states, and collaboration with frontend engineers.
- Show finished interface work, not only process. Remote UI designer listings often need evidence that you can ship production-ready screens with clear hierarchy, responsive behavior, and developer-friendly specs.
- Make collaboration visible. Include examples where you worked with product managers, engineers, UX researchers, or content designers across time zones, especially when async comments or written rationale shaped the final UI.
- Call out platform fit. Separate web app, SaaS dashboard, mobile, marketplace, ecommerce, or B2B product experience so reviewers can quickly connect your portfolio to the remote UI designer opening.
- Search by design context. Filter for terms like UI designer, product designer, visual product designer, design systems designer, and mobile UI designer, then prioritize listings that match your strongest portfolio examples.
For remote searches, avoid treating every UI title as the same role. A polished marketing-site portfolio won’t read the same as a SaaS product UI case study, and a component-library project should be framed differently from a consumer mobile redesign. LiftmyCV helps you find remote UI designer jobs that match your skills, experience, and preferred work style, then auto-apply to relevant roles faster.
Required Skills
Resume Tips
For remote UI designer roles, your resume should show how you turn product requirements into usable screens without needing constant in-person direction. Highlight interface work across web apps, mobile flows, design systems, dashboards, onboarding, checkout, or account settings. Name the tools you actually use, such as Figma, FigJam, Sketch, Adobe XD, Principle, ProtoPie, Zeplin, Jira, Linear, Notion, and design system libraries. If you have accessibility experience, include WCAG, contrast checks, keyboard states, component documentation, or handoff notes for engineers.
Cut portfolio-style adjectives from the resume. Phrases like “clean visual design” or “passionate about user experience” are weaker than shipped interface details. Remote UI design resumes should also avoid listing every freelance mockup if the work didn’t involve product constraints, stakeholder feedback, or implementation handoff.
Present experience around screens shipped, systems improved, and collaboration habits. Mention async design reviews, Figma comments, specs, user flows, responsive states, and cross-functional work with product managers, UX researchers, and frontend engineers.
- Weak: Designed modern UI screens for a SaaS product.
- Strong: Redesigned 18 Figma screens for a SaaS onboarding flow, documented responsive states, and handed off component specs to frontend engineers in Jira.
LiftmyCV helps you create an ATS-friendly UI designer resume tailored to each remote job, so your skills and experience better match what employers are looking for.
How to Prepare for Interviews
Interview prep for remote UI designer roles
Remote UI designer interviews usually center on portfolio judgment, visual craft, interaction detail, and how you work without sitting beside product and engineering. Prepare two or three case studies that show the path from brief to shipped screens, including wireframes, component choices, edge states, accessibility decisions, and any metric you can share, such as conversion lift, task completion, or reduced support tickets.
Expect a portfolio review where you explain one interface in depth: why the layout changed, how you handled feedback in Figma, and what tradeoffs you made for responsive or mobile states. A common assessment is a timed redesign prompt, such as improving an onboarding flow or checkout screen, followed by a critique of your spacing, hierarchy, states, and rationale.
For remote UI designer jobs in 2026, practice talking through async collaboration: design handoff notes, design system usage, comments in Figma, and how you resolve conflicting feedback from product managers, engineers, and researchers.
