The Opportunity At BMS, we're not just building software — we're building the architectural foundations that will define how a global pharmaceutical organisation harnesses AI through to 2030 and beyond. As a Senior Manager in Software Engineering and Full Stack, you'll be the principal technical force behind a shared, production-grade platform that powers analytics, digital products, and autonomous AI workers across our Product Development Supply (PDS) organisation. This is a deeply hands-on, senior individual-contributor role. You won't manage people — you'll set the technical bar through architecture, reference implementations, and engineering excellence. Working within our Analytics AI Enablement Architecture Components team, you'll sit alongside UI, UX, AI Engineering, and Architecture specialists in a globally distributed, multidisciplinary environment, helping to shape not just what we build, but how the entire organisation builds it. What You'll Do Architect a Multi-Service Platform at Scale Design and build distributed, multi-service platforms that orchestrate work across autonomous services and agents — with conditional routing, parallel execution, and error recovery Treat the platform as an internal SaaS/PaaS: shared SDKs, service contracts, and reusable components that solution teams consume rather than rebuild from scratch Build graph-based orchestration workflows that combine LLM reasoning, business logic, real-time data integration, and enterprise security patterns Create extensible component libraries and platform patterns that serve multiple business domains simultaneously Build Production-Grade Backend Systems Develop production FastAPI (or similar) applications with async I/O patterns for persistence and external services Implement Server-Sent Events (SSE) and WebSocket protocols for real-time streaming responses Design APIs and event-driven architectures for orchestration and service-to-service communication Build robust error handling, graceful degradation, and enterprise security integration (SSO, access control), deploying containerised services via CI/CD Lead Frontend Architecture Unified Experience Build modern web frontends (React) and architect micro-frontend and Module Federation compositions so independently developed modules form one seamless, coherent experience Develop and steward a shared component library and design system used across the entire platform Design AI-enhanced UI patterns for streaming responses, conversational interfaces, and analytical visualisation Make MCP a First-Class Platform Capability Design, build, and host production MCP servers that expose platform services and tools — ensuring the same underlying capabilities power both the web UI and Claude Desktop with no divergence between the two Define golden-path patterns, shared MCP servers, and reusable templates so solution teams can ship dual-intent solutions rapidly Establish MCP hosting, versioning, security, and operational standards for enterprise-grade integration Integrate and Orchestrate LLMs at Scale Integrate cloud LLM providers (AWS Bedrock or comparable) into platform services Design prompt management with versioning, templating, and dynamic compilation Implement conversation and state persistence (e.g., Redis checkpointing) for multi-turn agentic workflows Build standardised tool-calling that connects agents and external clients to data sources, with the Model Context Protocol as the primary integration surface Drive Reusability, Observability Optimisation Treat internal developers as customers — deliver golden-path templates, clear contracts, and documentation that accelerate delivery across the organisation Define versioning, contracts, and backward compatibility standards across the component ecosystem Build observability, tracing, and monitoring for performance, latency, cost, and quality — and continuously optimise resource and token usage across production workflows Collaborate and Mentor Across the Organisation Partner with cloud, AI, data, and UX engineers to integrate full-stack work with infrastructure, agentic capabilities, and interaction design Align with Enterprise engineering and governance teams on shared standards and controls Provide technical mentorship on system design, solution patterns, and platform best practices — and contribute to architecture reviews and documentation What You'll Bring Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Data Science, or a related field Experience — Required 6+ years of software engineering experience with deep full-stack delivery, including production experience building LLM-powered or agentic applications Strong Python expertise, including async patterns (asyncio, async/await) and Python-based automation Production experience with async web frameworks (FastAPI or similar), REST, and event-driven and streaming architectures (WebSocket/SSE, queues, streams) Strong working knowledge of modern web frontends (React) and micro-frontend/Module Federation composition Demonstrated experience designing distributed, multi-service systems and building an internal platform, SaaS/PaaS, or shared developer platform Experience with agentic orchestration frameworks (LangGraph preferred; LangChain, CrewAI, Autogen or similar) and cloud LLM providers (AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenAI) Strong platform and cloud depth: Docker, Kubernetes/Amazon EKS, infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation), Git and CI/CD, service mesh, policy-as-code (OPA/Gatekeeper), and production observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) on AWS Experience owning platform governance, security, and self-service onboarding — IAM/SSO, group-based authorisation, and policy-as-code Critical Platform Agentic Systems Experience Built autonomous, multi-step systems that perform complex analytical tasks well beyond simple chatbots Designed distributed platforms with service orchestration, conditional logic, and state management Developed and hosted production MCP servers with demonstrated adoption across capabilities Delivered dual-intent solutions where the same services power both a web experience and an LLM/desktop client via MCP Designed shared SDKs and contracts and managed API evolution across many consumers Prompt engineering at scale — templating, versioning, optimisation — and a strong understanding of agentic design patterns (ReAct, Plan-and-Execute, tool-use agents) Skills Competencies Excellent communication and the ability to set technical direction and influence decisions without direct authority Strong problem-solving capability in globally distributed, cross-functional teams Hands-on experience implementing Agentic AI solutions and/or MCP Relevant cloud certification (e.g., AWS) is a plus Advantageous Experience Prior experience in global life sciences, pharma, or supply chain — particularly within Product Development Supply Experience in regulated environments (GxP, GDPR, PII) and embedding compliance into platform design from the outset Experience scaling an internal platform across multiple product and domain teams while managing contract and dependency complexity Experience working internationally with globally dispersed teams Why This Role? "Ireland hiring in 2026 tends to reward candidates who can read the local context, not just the job title. Dublin often pulls in tech, product, finance, operations, and support roles, while other Irish hubs can lean more toward shared services, compliance, customer teams, and site-based work. For applicants, the sharper signal is showing where you fit the hiring setup, remote, hybrid, or office-based, and how your experience maps to Irish employer expectations."

How to Land a Role in Ireland in 2026

For jobs in Ireland in 2026, the first filter is usually fit: location, work authorization, seniority, and whether the role expects office time in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, or another Irish market. Use your application to answer those points early. If you’re already based in Ireland, say so clearly. If you need sponsorship or relocation support, be direct about timing and eligibility so employers don’t have to guess.

Because this is a broad Ireland jobs page, your positioning should stay tied to a clear lane. A software engineer should lead with production systems, languages, cloud platforms, and release ownership. A finance or accounting candidate should emphasize reporting cycles, controls, payroll, audit, or regulatory exposure. A customer support or operations applicant should show queue ownership, service metrics, escalation handling, scheduling, or process improvement. A sales, marketing, or growth candidate should point to market coverage, pipeline work, campaign execution, CRM usage, or account ownership.

  • Match the Irish job wording. If a listing uses “CV,” “contract,” “hybrid,” “fixed-term,” or “permanent,” mirror the relevant terms in your application materials.
  • Show your working setup. For Ireland roles, state whether you can work on-site, hybrid, or remote, and name the city or county if it affects commute or availability.
  • Prioritize role-fit over volume. Apply first to jobs where your recent responsibilities match the title, seniority, tools, and employment type listed.
  • Make availability concrete. Notice period, start timing, visa status, and relocation plans matter for Ireland-based hiring, especially when employers are filling near-term vacancies.

Search with combinations that include the Ireland location and your lane, such as product manager jobs in Ireland, customer support jobs in Dublin, accounting jobs in Cork, or remote software engineer jobs in Ireland.

Resume Tips

For jobs in Ireland, keep the resume grounded in the role family you’re applying to rather than using one broad version for every application. For technology roles, show tools such as Python, Java, SQL, AWS, Azure, Jira, GitHub, or Salesforce where they genuinely fit. For finance, compliance, operations, or administration roles, make audit work, reconciliations, reporting, stakeholder coordination, Excel, Power BI, SAP, AML, GDPR, or process documentation easy to find. Customer support and sales resumes should show CRM use, queue ownership, renewal work, territory activity, or client issue resolution.

Cut vague summaries, long lists of soft skills, and duties that don’t connect to the Irish job posting. If a role asks for hybrid work in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, or another Irish location, include your work authorization, location, notice period, and remote or on-site availability where appropriate.

Present experience with proof. Weak bullet: “Responsible for customer reports and team communication.” Strong bullet: “Built weekly Excel and Power BI reports for customer operations, reducing manual follow-up and giving managers clearer visibility into open cases.”

For 2026 applications, lead with the most relevant Irish market signals: EU or Irish regulatory exposure, multinational experience, local client support, shared services work, or sector-specific tools named in the posting.

How to Prepare for Interviews

For jobs in Ireland, interview prep should match the lane you’re applying for rather than follow one script. Engineering candidates may face coding screens, API debugging, or system design prompts, while product and analytics roles often use case studies with metrics, tradeoffs, and stakeholder questions. Design applicants should be ready for a portfolio review that explains research choices, constraints, and final outcomes. Operations, support, compliance, and partnerships roles may lean on scenario questions, process judgment, customer handling, or regulatory awareness.

Prepare examples that show how you worked with distributed teams, handled ambiguity, and communicated clearly across functions. A common question type is: “Walk us through a project where requirements changed late. What did you do, and what changed in the result?” For 2026 interviews in Ireland, keep a few role-specific stories ready: one measurable win, one difficult tradeoff, one collaboration example, and one lesson from a project that did not go cleanly.
