Technical Program Manager, Extensibility Platform (CA)

Remote
StripeToronto, Remote Canada

Who we are About Stripe Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career. About the team The Developer Experience and Product Platform (DEeP) organization empowers all of Stripe's products with a shared product platform that delivers high-quality, consistent, cross-product experiences across our UI and API surfaces. DEeP focuses on providing a scalable developer experience that any developer can leverage to accelerate a customer's ability to create value from Stripe. Within DEeP, the Extensibility program is how Stripe expands its total addressable market and increases customer retention. With extensibility, Stripe becomes programmable — customers and product teams can adapt Stripe to their needs on a common platform. Stripe has three interconnected extensibility primitives. Scripts — Secure, isolated TypeScript runtime allowing merchants and developers to customize Stripe product behavior (e.g., discount calculations, invoice logic, proration). Custom Objects — User-defined data models (e.g., Shipments, Locations, Warranties, Entitlements) with first-class APIs, SDKs, and Dashboard experiences. Workflows — A programmable orchestration layer (graduating to GA at Sessions) enabling no-code and pro-code business logic across Stripe, including custom actions, delays, smart retries, and 3P integrations. These primitives are deeply interdependent, involve 10+ cross-functional teams, and culminate in a flagship product launch. What you'll do We're seeking a product-focused Technical Program Manager to drive the Extensibility program across the Workflows, Custom Objects, and Scripts workstreams. This is a newly created, high-impact role at the intersection of platform engineering, product management, and cross-organizational program ownership. In this role, you'll own one of the most strategically consequential programs in DEeP — driving the direction, health, and outcomes of Stripe's Extensibility platform across Scripts, Custom Objects, and Workflows. You'll set the program strategy in partnership with DEeP leadership, holding organizations accountable to the success of the program. Responsibilities Drive cross-org decisions across DRIs in Script Platform, Custom Objects, Apps, SDK, Observability, DevEx, and Versioning — actively resolving the hard, ambiguous integration and ownership questions that fall between team boundaries. Own the critical path to major launches — proactively shaping scope, driving descope decisions, and negotiating trade-offs across teams so that launches reflect deliberate strategic choices. Influence and shape product and engineering roadmaps — bringing a program-level perspective to team planning cycles, pushing back where individual team roadmaps are misaligned with broader extensibility strategy, and advocating for cross-cutting investments that no single team will prioritize on their own. Support ProServ and Partnerships — ensure ProServ and Partnerships requirements surface in the roadmap with the same rigor as product requirements, and hold the bridge between what the platform delivers and what those teams need to close and serve complex customers. Who you are We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. Minimum requirements 5+ years of technical program management experience with demonstrated success in driving complex cross-organizational programs. Strong product sense and ability to understand enterprise customer needs Demonstrated ability to communicate with precision and credibility across engineering, product, and executive audiences, translating complex technical trade-offs into strategic decisions, and driving alignment. Demonstrated ability to lead and align cross-functional teams — driving decisions, resolving conflict, and building consensus across organizations with competing priorities. Proven track record of successful program delivery in complex technical environments Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience Preferred qualifications Background in product management or product operations Experience with developer platforms, API products, or payment systems

"Toronto hiring in 2026 tends to reward candidates who can operate across established company structures, not just early-stage ambiguity. For broad Jobs in Toronto searches, the pattern often spans engineering, operations, product, customer-facing, finance, and administrative roles, with employers paying close attention to local collaboration needs, hybrid expectations, and evidence of steady execution. The resumes that read best here connect scope, tools, and business context without trying to sound bigger than the work actually was."

How to Land a Job in Toronto in 2026

Toronto job searches work best when your application points to a clear lane, not just a general interest in working in the city. For Jobs in Toronto, decide whether you’re targeting office-based roles, customer-facing roles, technical roles, operations roles, finance roles, marketing roles, or administrative roles, then shape your positioning around that lane. A hiring manager reviewing Toronto applications should be able to see the kind of work you do, the level you operate at, and whether you’re suited for remote, hybrid, or on-site work.

Use the job description to mirror the exact work being hired for. If the listing is for operations, emphasize scheduling, vendor coordination, reporting, or process ownership. If it’s a sales or customer support role, lead with client communication, account handling, CRM use, service volume, or retention work. For technical and analytics roles, show the tools, systems, languages, dashboards, or data workflows you’ve used. For marketing, content, or growth jobs, point to campaigns, channels, audience work, and measurable deliverables without inflating the results.

  • Clarify location fit: state whether you’re already in Toronto, open to commuting, or looking for hybrid or remote Toronto-based roles.
  • Match the seniority: avoid sending the same application to entry-level coordinator roles, manager roles, and senior specialist roles without changing the emphasis.
  • Prioritize recent listings: in August 2026, focus first on active Toronto postings where your work history matches the function and work style.
  • Use role-specific language: applications for Toronto finance, product, support, retail, healthcare, and software roles should not read like the same document with a different job title.

LiftmyCV helps you find Toronto jobs that match your skills, experience, and preferred work style, then auto-apply to relevant roles faster.

Resume Tips

For Jobs in Toronto, keep your resume anchored to the role lane you’re applying for, not a broad list of everything you’ve done. A product resume should show launches, roadmap work, Jira tickets, stakeholder decisions, and user or revenue outcomes. An operations or administrative resume should make scheduling, vendor coordination, Excel reporting, compliance steps, and process fixes easy to scan. Sales and customer roles should show CRM use, pipeline activity, retention work, account growth, or support volume. Finance, analytics, and compliance resumes should bring forward Excel, SQL, Power BI, audit work, CPA coursework, controls, or reporting cycles when they apply.

Cut vague summaries, old coursework that doesn’t connect to the posting, and bullets that read like job descriptions. Toronto employers reviewing hybrid, on-site, and remote roles need quick proof that you can do the specific work listed in the posting.

  • Weak bullet: Responsible for helping with reports and team updates.
  • Stronger bullet: Built weekly Excel and Power BI reports for a Toronto operations team, reducing manual status updates and giving managers clearer shipment, staffing, and vendor data.

Use 2026 dates consistently, name the tools you actually used, and match certifications such as PMP, CPA, CHRP, AWS, or Google Analytics only when they’re relevant to the Toronto job description.

How to Prepare for Interviews

Interview preparation for jobs in Toronto

For Toronto job searches in 2026, prepare for a mix of interview formats rather than one standard process. A software role may include a coding screen or system design discussion, while product and operations roles may use case prompts, workflow questions, or prioritization exercises. Sales, support, and partnerships interviews often test how you handle customers, objections, or account scenarios.

Build examples around the work the posting names. For analytics roles, be ready to explain a dashboard, SQL query, or metric decision. For design roles, practice a portfolio walkthrough that covers user problem, constraints, tradeoffs, and outcome. For compliance, finance, or administrative roles, prepare examples involving documentation accuracy, risk judgment, or stakeholder follow-up.

A useful practice question is: “Walk me through a time you improved a process, product, customer outcome, or technical system.” Answer with the Toronto role’s likely tools, team setting, and measurable result, even if the result is modest.
